Summer is a wonderful time in St Marychurch. Longer days bring residents, families and visitors out to enjoy our village, support local traders and spend time together.
One of the highlights of the season is the much-loved St Marychurch Scarecrow Festival. Since the first trail in 2018, the festival has grown into a popular local tradition, filling shops, gardens and community spaces with imaginative handmade creations.
A trail full of character
The scarecrows are always full of character. Some are funny, some are wonderfully unusual, and others show an extraordinary amount of skill. Most importantly, every one of them helps make St Marychurch feel colourful, welcoming and alive.
Following the trail is also a lovely way to explore the village. It encourages people to discover different corners of the area, visit local businesses and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
Thank you to our community
Events like this only happen because people contribute their ideas, creativity and time. A big thank-you goes to the organisers, participating traders and residents, volunteers and everyone who supports the trail.
Whether you make a scarecrow, follow the trail or simply enjoy seeing the creations appear, we hope you will join in and help make this another memorable summer in St Marychurch.
