Halloween week begins in St Marychurch — plus Greenway Road closure

It has been a busy few days in and around the precinct, and Halloween week is now properly under way.

Greenway Road closure

Greenway Road is closed at its junction with Dartmouth Road from Thursday 23 October until Sunday 1 November for Wales & West Utilities works. Anyone travelling through the area should allow extra time and check the Torbay Council roadworks list before setting off.

Half-term things to do

Bygones is open daily, with its Black Cat Trail running through half-term: find the 12 hidden cats, solve the phrase and claim a treat at reception. It is included with normal admission — plan a visit.

Babbacombe Model Village’s Frightlights also starts this week, with spooky illuminations and its Behind the Screams trail from 5:15pm. The attraction is open 10am–8:30pm, with last entry at 7pm.

The St Marychurch Halloween Trail is also running from now until Saturday. Trail packs are £1 cash from Falcone’s, Animals in Distress and Torbay Scrapstore. The fancy-dress prize-giving takes place at Molloy’s from 4pm on Saturday, with prizes across three age groups.

Looking ahead

  • Thursday 29 October: Poppins Pottery Halloween Party — this session is fully booked.
  • Friday 30 October: Poppins Pottery has its second Halloween session, with limited availability; then the Crown & Sceptre hosts its Halloween Party from 8pm, with Soul Train DJ and best-dressed prizes.
  • Saturday 31 October: children’s party at The Dolphin from 12:30pm; Molloy’s Halloween Party from 7:30pm; and the Madchester Halloween Do at The Dolphin from 8pm, free entry.

The full, date-by-date list is on the What’s On page.
