Good morning from St Marychurch. There is plenty to look forward to over the next fortnight, with a moment to remember together, practical ways to support local families and some good reasons to visit the precinct.
Armistice Day — Wednesday 11 November
St Marychurch will come together to remember and reflect. Community activity begins from 9.30am, with the church service at St Mary the Virgin beginning at 10.50am. The official service at the War Memorial in Fore Street is at 11am. Refreshments and a grand raffle will follow at The Dolphin, supporting the Torquay Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club’s community event.
Give, take and share: The Big Toy Swap
The Big Toy Swap is at St Mary the Virgin Church Hall on Saturday 14 November, 10am–12 noon. Families can pick up pre-loved toys, books, games and festive clothing for free. Donations for children aged 0–8 can be dropped at Torbay Scrapstore, Fore Street, from 4–6pm on Tuesday 10 November. Please note that large items cannot be accepted.
