A quick round-up of useful local information for the week ahead in St Marychurch.
At the Precinct Centre
The Precinct Centre is open for hot drinks and snacks from 10am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. This week’s regular activities include:
- Tuesday: Knitting & Yarn Fairies, chair exercises, Writers’ Group and U3A Bridge.
- Wednesday: Craft Group in the morning, followed by social bridge and games.
- Thursday: Watercolour Group in the morning and Film Club from 1pm to 4.30pm.
There is also a relaxed Singing for Health session every second Thursday, 10.30am–11.30am. Please check the Centre’s noticeboard or contact them to confirm the next session.
Coming up locally
- Thursday 17 September: The Dolphin kitchen reopens from noon, with Community Lunch served 12pm–2pm. The Local History Society AGM and illustrated talk is at St Anne’s Hall from 2.30pm.
- Friday 18 September: Mosaic workshop at Torbay Scrapstore, 6.30pm–8.30pm.
- Saturday 19 September: Carrie Audit performs at St Marychurch & Babbacombe Conservative Club, 8.30pm–11pm.
Have your say on the proposed 20mph zone
Torbay Council is consulting on a proposed 20mph school zone around St Marychurch CofE Primary and Nursery School, covering Hartop Road and Petitor Road west of St Marychurch Road. The consultation is open until midnight on 30 September.
