Matchday in St Marychurch

TORQUAY UNITED v DORKING WANDERERS

Saturday · 3pm · Plainmoor
St Marychurch Precinct → Plainmoor: 0.6 miles / around 14 minutes on foot

Torquay United are looking for a third win in a row when Dorking Wanderers visit Plainmoor this Saturday at 3pm. With a big crowd expected, why not make a day of it in St Marychurch before heading to the match?

It is a proper pre-match stop: breakfast, cafés, pubs with live football, independent food, a few shops to browse and parking options before the short walk down to the ground.

Breakfast, coffee and a quick bite

  • Breakfast or coffee: Bay Tree Café, Coffee House and Driftwood.
  • Saturday treats: Big Bakes for pastries, cakes and something to take with you.
  • Last-minute essentials: the local bakery, Co-op and Sainsbury’s.

Pre-match food, football and a pint

  • The Dolphin: pre-match drinks from 12pm, live football on the screens and £6.50 basket meals served with chips and dips until the 3pm kick-off. Choices include chicken, a hot dog, cheeseburger, scampi and a veggie burger.
  • Molloy’s: live football, a matchday food option and a lively pre-match stop.
  • Crown & Sceptre: another handy pub option for a drink and a chat before walking to Plainmoor.

Please check directly with each venue for current food, drink and opening arrangements.

Make a day of it

Coming with children, family or friends? St Marychurch has more to browse than just food and drink. Torbay Scrapstore is a colourful creative stop, while the precinct has independent shops, barbers, hairdressers, the Post Office and places to pick up something different. Sauced is worth a look for supporters interested in vintage fashion, streetwear, trainers and accessories. South Devon Tattoo Company is also in the precinct; contact them directly for appointment availability.

Park, then take the short walk

There is a council pay-and-display car park in St Marychurch, as well as free on-street parking in some surrounding roads, subject to local restrictions and availability. It can be a useful alternative for supporters who would rather park, eat or drink locally, then make the walk to the ground. Plainmoor itself does not have dedicated supporter parking, so allow plenty of time.
